[Accessing God's mercy in the Holy Spirit]
God, in Revelation 12:12 announced that the devil's demotion to the earth was an automatic problem for the inhabitants of the earth.
So, after the devil was cast down, God said, 'Therefore rejoice ye in heavens and ye that dwell in them. Woe unto the inhabitants of the earth and of the sea, for the devil is come down into you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has but a short time.'
The activities of the devil on the earth now are to cause sin, moral failures and immoralities.
This study reveals the restoration facilities God had put in place to restore His people when they fall so that they can fulfill their destinies.
Is the Holy Spirit convicting you of sin? Are you feeling guilty of something bad you did? Do not curse yourself, there is restoration in Christ.
In the first edition of this series, I shared on the scriptural recommendations of admitting your flaws and believing in the judgement of the Holy Spirit. Also, I shared on being patient for the restoration to be completed.
In the most recent edition, I shared on the importance of prayer as a channel of accessing grace. Now that you have prayed and still praying for pardon and restoration, here is another nugget; being attentive to the Spirit through listening and alignment. Listen and align.
Listen
In the earlier editions of these teachings on the Holy Spirit, I mentioned that the Holy Spirit speaks. Yes, He speaks. Therefore, when He speaks, you have to listen. When you pray for pardon and restoration into fellowship, you also have to listen.
Note that you do not decide when He speaks.
He can choose to speak while you pray, or days into your prayer. He may speak after the prayer. The point here is that He decides when He wants to speak.
You should discover how He speaks to you, your own inner witness, because He speaks to people differently.
Receiving that response from the Holy Spirit is very important. You can be forgiven and yet not know.
Sometimes, the manifestation of that forgiveness is meant to be imparted at the announcement of the Holy Ghost. Why should you miss that?
This is why the Lord recommends that we be sober and vigilant. Unfortunately, our world is a busy place. Sometimes 24 hours in a day seems almost insufficient. But a noisy and rowdy spirit cannot pick the signal of the Holy Spirit. Learn to be alone with Him. You are forgiven and He really wants to break the news, but maybe you are too busy.
When you fail to listen and pick the signals and announcements of the Holy Spirit, you delay your peace. When you hear Him, your entire being will recognize His voice and tears will cloud your eyes when you encounter the mercies His brings.
Align
God's restoration and pardon always come with a message of caution. He said to the woman caught in the act of adultery, 'Go and sin no more.' John 8:11.
The Holy Spirit will always take time to explain a lot of things to you on how you should sin no more; what to do and how to stay out of the sin that brought trouble. This is why you always need to listen. It is for your own good. But beyond listening, you must also align.
This instruction is a crucial part of the mercy you have received. God's standards are high and the Holy Ghost will not be intimidated by your stubbornness or background. He will insist that you align.
God's word is a life jacket in a stormy sea of iniquity and pervasion. Put it on. The act of submitting to God’s word speaks loud about your value for your relationship with Him. God is full of grace, but you have to indicate interest by obedience and alignment.
Make the Holy Spirit a close companion through listening and alignment, and you'll understand more about God's grace.
