Listening for Divine Direction
“And your ears shall hear a word behind thee saying, ‘this is the way, walk ye in it, when you turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left'.”
Isaiah 30: 21
The Maze
Life is full of options. We make choices every day, choices concerning our personal lives, families, businesses, society, etc.
The world itself is very complex. Interestingly, there are God – ways and the ways of the devil, all intertwined.
The Way That Seems Right
"There’s a way that seems right, but the end thereof are the ways of death." Proverbs 14:12.
As children of God, we are expected to walk by faith, and not by sight!
Sight is highly deceiving and misleading, but the spirit of God does not lie. The ways of the world or of death is difficult to identify, if you walk in the flesh.
Therefore, we need divine direction at all times.
At The Cross Road
Our text says, when you get to a crossroad, and the routes seem familiar and all attractive, do not depend (only) on your senses and intelligence, seek and listen for the voice of the Spirit of God for direction.
The Spirit of God has information of where next to turn and He is always speaking. Listen.
The Spirit Always Speaks
Our journey as Christians on this earth is not without compass or spiritual GPS.
Jesus operated with these. Before he left, He promised us to send the same spiritual technology so we could operate like He did. He said the package is called ‘The Holy Spirit’.
He said, He (the Holy Spirit) shall teach and show us all truth and direction.
‘Howbeit, when He, the Spirit of truth shall come, He will guide you into all truth: for He shall not speak of Himself, but whatever He shall hear, that shall He speak, and He will show you things to come!’.
(John 16: 13)
Always Listen to The Holy Spirit For What Next
The Holy Spirit as revealed in the scripture above always speaks and shows. Friends, do not think that you are in this life alone, or in that situation – alone.
No!
Someone is always there with you. Ready, with information. Always set to guide you on what next to do; where next to turn, how to operate. And what button to press.
Tune In
Like a radio, you cannot hear until you tune in. So, tune out of your senses and intellect, tune in to the spirit, and you’ll be grateful you did.
Have a spirit-filled day.
