PARABE OF THE LOST SHEEP

“Supposed one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them, what would he do? He leaves the ninety nine sheep in the pasture and goes looking for the lost sheep until he finds it.

When he finds it, he is so happy, that he puts it on his shoulder, carries it back home, and calls his friends and neighbours together. ‘Rejoice with me’, he tells them, ‘For I have found my lost Sheep!’ " (Luke 15:3-7)

A parable is a short story used to teach moral or spiritual lessons. Jesus used a lot of parables to teach.

That of the lost sheep is one of them, and it captures the cores of Jesus' coming to the earth.

The Value of the Missing One

This parable is a popular one. A shepherd realizes that one sheep in his flock of hundred (100), is missing, then he keeps these ninety nine, takes his bow, and goes in search for the missing one.

It doesn't make so much sense to risk 99 sheep in search of one (which perhaps deliberately wandered away from the flock?) It is because, the shepherd values and loves every sheep including the missing sheep. I'm fact, Jesus came for the missing sheep.

The Shepherd is Jesus

Jesus is that caring and loving shepherd. He spoke of himself. He said in John 10:27 "My sheep hears my voice and I know them by their names". Indeed, Jesus is that shepherd. He cares for you. 🤎🤎

In case you never knew, he loves that guy and that lady may have considered a terrible sinner, fornicator, smoker, thief or bully. He loves that street boy and girl. Yes, she may have committed abortion again and again, yet, Jesus loves her still.

Maybe you've condemned yourself because of your wrongs and guilt. Enough of that condemnation. Jesus is that good shepherd. He is in search of everyone who has gone astray. Have gone astray, then His arms are wide open.

There is Joy in Heaven

Take a second to look at the story. The man finds the sheep, brings it home on his shoulder with Joy; calls friends and neighbours to join him celebrate his lost but found sheep. Jesus ended by saying that similarly, there is joy in heaven when someone who was without Christ gets born again. Friend, when heaven celebrates over something, then it is indeed glorious. 💃💃

It is a great event we may not understand except by revelation. The joy shows the value of redemption.

Receive Jesus Today

Jesus said, ‘Behold I stand on the door and knock, if any man hears my voice, and opens to me, I will come in and sop with him, and he with me’. (Revelations 3:20)

Dear, it is a pleasant experience working with Jesus, and staying in His flock. Maybe you made a mistake, and that landed you in a serious mess, in a worldly living. Do not condemn yourself. ❌❌ Just accept that Jesus died to declare you 'Not guilty'. He will joyfully receive you.

Say this prayer with me then:

Lord Jesus, I believe you died for me, and that salvation is only in your name.

Please forgive me of my sins. Please wash me with your blood. Thank for saving me. Amen.

I AM HE

This was the question Joseph asked himself when Potiphar's wife asked him to lay with her. " How can I do this wickedness and sin against my God?"
