11. And he said, ‘A certain man had two sons: and the younger of them said to his father, ‘Father give me the portion of goods that belongs to me'. And he divided unto them his living. Not many days after, the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.
14 'And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land, and he began to be in want. And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country, who sent him into the fields to feed swine. He wished he could fill himself with the pods the pigs ate, but no one gave him any.
17 'And when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many hired servants of my father have bread enough and to spare, while I perish with hunger! I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven and before thee, and I’m no more worthy to be called thy son. Make me as one of thy servants.’
20 And he arose and came to his father. But when he was yet at a distance, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck, and kissed him…’ (Luke 15:11—20)
The Decision
The story of the prodigal son is a familiar and popular story Jesus told his disciples. The prodigal son made a decision to leave his father and establish his life elsewhere. But unfortunately, he wasted his resources in an extravagant lifestyle and became bankrupt. Things fell apart in his life.
The consequences of his decisions began to hunt him. He regretted his decisions. He felt terrible.
Have You Regretted Your Decision?
It is not too late to make it right with God. If you have erred, or wandered away from the ways Lord, remember that He still cares. His arms are wide open in to receive you.
Take a U-Turn
The prodigal son came to his senses and decided to return to his father, this time, not as a son, but as a servant. He did not consider himself qualified to be regarded any longer as a son. Similarly, you may have condemned yourself because of your mistakes. But, no more. Jesus still loves you.
That is why he shared that story. He wants you to know that no matter how far you have gone on the wrong way, no matter the nature of ‘bad’ things you have done, the world may reject you, but he hasn’t rejected you.
Jesus is Ready to Receive You
You cannot see Him with your (physical) eyes, but if you say a word of prayer, confessing your mistakes and asking for His help, He will (instantly) fill you with peace and forgive your sins. He doesn’t blame you, He doesn’t scorn at you. He doesn’t want you dead. He wants you to repent and be saved. Accept His offer. Stay blessed.
