[Preserving your salvation]

In the introductory edition, we saw the origin/source of light, the transmission and purpose of light in our lives, and our duties to light up our world with the light we have received in God.
The Enemy of Light
Toward conclusion of the last edition, we introduced the core issue in this series, –the fact that light has an enemy which is darkness.

Satan is the prince of darkness and he is out to darken every light in Believers in order to thrive. So, you and I have the responsibility to preserve, protect, guard and defend our light. Yes! It's our duty.

Defend Your Light: What To Do
Jude 3 and 4 says "Earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saint." Picture yourself holding a candle on an open, breezy field. To keep the light on, you have to cover it, either with your palm or any other way.

Also, if you make fire using firewood, it will quench when the wood burns out. When the fire goes out, you would lose your sight or clarity, then, you could stumble or get attacked.

It is possible for your light to go out. Last year (2019), The Holy Spirit said to me, "Goodlife, don't be surprised. It is possible for your light to be darkened and you switch tracks unknowingly." Below are somethings I learnt from Bishop David Oyedepo and by revelation –on how to preserve your spiritual light.

i. Gather the Word of God
Towards the end of last year (2019) the Holy Spirit reintroduced my place of study to me as 'the light room of the word'. He went forward to say, "Come, gather as much light as you can: gather today, gather tomorrow, keep gathering."

Why do I need the word? Bishop Oyedepo answered this question. He said the word is like firewood. This insight has stayed with me. It is the word of God that sustains the fire, and without the wood, the fire goes out. Proverbs 26:20

So, in order to preserve your light from been extinguished, gather the word of God in huge volume. Satan operates in ignorance. So, do not be that workshop of ignorance. Be the light room of God's word. Burn!

ii. Depart From Evil
2Timothy 2:22 says "Flee yea youthful lust..." In other words, I can say: Flee from evil. Run from evil. Evil is anything that is not recommended or supported by God's word. Evil darkens the light of God in Believers. Evil feeds the flesh, and when your flesh is fed, your spirit becomes weak.

The stronger the impulse of your flesh, and lust, the weaker your spirit becomes. This is evidence that your light is been attacked. What you have to do is run! Yes, do not negotiate with sin. The powers behind it wants to put out your light. Repent from every known transgression and return to God. This way, your light is preserved.

In order to stay above the power of sin and evil, you have to partner with the word of God. Ephesians 5:8 says "...now are ye light, walk as children of light." (KJV)

It is a commandment, make it your duty. Defend your light. Walk in the light. See you in the next edition. God bless you.

🌱PARABLE OF THE SOWER (3) 🌱

I AM HE

Revealing the person of Jesus “ The woman said unto Him, ‘I know that Messiah cometh, which is called Christ. When He comes, he will teach us all things’. HOW CAN I?

This was the question Joseph asked himself when Potiphar's wife asked him to lay with her. " How can I do this wickedness and sin against my God?" For Joseph, having an affair with Potiphar's wife wasn't only going to displease Potiphar if found out, but it would affect his relationship with his God. How often have you called yourself to order?
