The word of God carries cleansing potentials.
That means when you listen or need the word of God on any subject, the Holy Ghost goes to work by fixing your heart in order for the word to be fruitful.
In the last publication, we saw from John 15:3, John 17:19, 1Timothy 4:5, Psalms 119:9 and Ephesians 5:26 that the word of God cleanses and purifies.
It's pertinent to note that any value that Christ offers comes through some Kingdom protocols of receiving.
We are going to see the protocol through which the purifying word of God is made manifest in us when we come in contact with it.
The Protocol of Faith
Faith is the Kingdom module by which we receive any possibility that is available in the Spirit.
Without faith, it is impossible to please God. Those who come to Him must 'first' believe.
However, in case you don't believe at first, your faith will come by hearing. So you have to hear more and more of God's word.
The Protocol of Hearing
This is the entry point of God's word into your life. When you hear, the word is received, when you believe, the word is planted.
If you don't believe, the fowls of the air will take them away. (See Luke 8:5, read my article The Parable of the Sower)
We are constantly at the risk of infiltration by the negatives around us. Apart from deliberately engaging in sin, the memories of filth our souls download daily will someday surge up against our purity if not taken out. (See Galatians 5:17)
God's word can do that regular checks and sanitation.
The Protocol of Endurance
We are in the perilous times Paul talked about when men will not endure sound doctrine, but will seek teachings that will fantasize them. (2Timothy 4:3)
When God's word challenges you and your weaknesses, endure it. Accept that you are weak and flawed. It is at this point that the word will pierce through to offer liberation and cleanse you.
Don't be defensive to the word. The word is older than you. Your stubborn argument will only take you round a futile cycle. Rather, endure and let it change you.
The Protocol of Storage and Retrieval
'Let the word of God dwell in you richly in all wisdom...' Colossians 3:16
If God's purifying word dwell abundantly in you, it will fight and contend with iniquity. This is to your own advantage.
So, gather and store enough of God's word. Then dish them out in prayers and confession. The elements and forces recognise and obey the word. Preserve the purifying word in you.
