The Family and Society

The family is a smaller unit that makes up society. We all come from families. We have elder (who were here earlier) and younger ones (who came after us). Heritage is a key factor.

If we have a violent society today, it is a reflection of our families. If we have a peaceful society, then it shows we have healthy families. For a better society, families should not be ignored.

God gave legendary testimony about Abraham in Genesis 18:19

God knew that to have a better society, the children of Abraham had to be led in the right way and so he said, 'I know Abraham that he will command his household after him and they shall keep the way of the Lord to do justice and judgement.'

The secret of a successful society is successful families. When the word of God prospers in families, it shall prosper in societies. It will succeed also in the church, because the church is part of society.

The church has her role in the moulding of society, but the immediate models are families. We meet our families more often than we meet in church.

Talking about models, Paul said to Timothy, 'If a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?" 1Timothy 3:5

A huge archive of our parents/guardians' lives still exist in our heads subconsciously.

We still battle to avoid a repeat of any negative habits they had. They were our first models (not the pastor).

As a teenager, no matter the length of the preacher's sermon against clubbing and smoking (for instance), if my father or uncle whom I stay with does these, it is easier to believe it is worthwhile.

Proverbs 22:6 declares "Parents, train up your child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will NOT depart from it."

The first instructional material you need is YOU. Yes, you are their first course book. If they score and 'A' in your life's example, that's a very good start.

I used to teach in nursery/primary school. Pupils regularly reported the ugly, domestic incidence in their homes.

As tender and innocent, they are already picking somethings from the lives of their parents.

If we must preserve our society and the future of our children, then we should model for them the right way.

People pass on and others are born, the society continues, better or worse, depending on transference.

What did your parents transfer to you? What are you transfering to your children?

If you don't teach and expose them to the word of God now, they won't be able to suppress the increasing evil that awaits them when you're gone.

A generation that doesn't transfer the values of God's word to their young and suckling has damaged the future, because it is God's word that holds this world together.

The same commitment you give to their academic growth, devote same for their spiritual and moral growth.

If all you give them is knowledge of science, art, commerce and technology, they will destroy all you have built when you're gone.

They will constitute a problem to society, even with their education.

Science is not enough, show them the way of the Lord.

Better families, better society!

UNITY AND TOGETHERNESS

The scriptural guide to a peaceful coexistence " I say to all of you, do not think of yourself more highly than you should. 🌱PARABLE OF THE SOWER (3) 🌱

[The stony ground] "And He taught them many things by parables and said unto them in his doctrine, 'Hearken, behold, there went out a sower to sow. And it came to pass that as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up. Such a lovely view! I remember watching a monkey dragging her baby with a crocodile who violently pulled the baby into the water. After a long struggle, the monkey won. She took the baby, but unfortunately, the baby died. However, the monkey was partly satisfied that she returned with her kid. I AM HE

Revealing the person of Jesus “ The woman said unto Him, ‘I know that Messiah cometh, which is called Christ. When He comes, he will teach us all things’. HOW CAN I?

This was the question Joseph asked himself when Potiphar's wife asked him to lay with her. " How can I do this wickedness and sin against my God?" For Joseph, having an affair with Potiphar's wife wasn't only going to displease Potiphar if found out, but it would affect his relationship with his God. How often have you called yourself to order? Where are your standards? Where are your deliberately upheld principles? What are your no no's? Your never never! For Joseph, prison was better than compromising.
