Do you know your elder brother was a die-hard follower of the Lord? Does your name remind you of the Psalms and prayers of the one of the greatest kings in history?
Have you been quick to repent when the Lord presents your mistakes right before you? That's how David was. He was not perfect, but his brokenness earned made him 'a man after God's own heart.'
Like young David, the flock keeper, are you diligent in the little you have now? Can we trust you with the throne?
David was faithful in keeping his father's flock, an unpaid job which prepared him for royalty, a glorious one.
Oh brother David, can God speak of you like He testified of David, "I have found David my servant, with my holy oil have I anointed him.." Psalm 89:20-21
Your parents named you David, that's fine. How Davidic are you? Are you a 21st century David, or modelled after God's great king which thousand of years later, a man cried after Jesus for help saying 'Son of David, have mercy on me.'
If we attach your own David to a document, what door can it open? What legacies are you building oh modern David?
