Greetings everyone!
Welcome to today's edition of Gospel Daily.
I trust that your day was fine.
So far, we have been considering things along the journey of faith.
Our conviction is based on the fact that there is a God who created the heavens and the earth, as captured in Genesis 1:1.
Not just that, He created us. He created the heavens and the earth, and He created us. Because He created us, He loves us, and since He loves us, He has good plans for us.
We previously talked about how He has good thoughts for us, not just thoughts, but good thoughts. And He has good plans for us.
We' also noted that He's not just the Creator, not just our Creator, He doesn't just love us, He doesn't just have good thoughts and plans towards us, He has also made provisions for the fulfillment of those plans and thoughts He has for us.
Some of those provisions are internal - our gifts, talents, abilities, passion. Some are external - family, neighbors, environment. And ultimately, Christ Jesus. He gave us Christ, and by that, He gave us Himself.
On the provisions, today I want to talk about one of those provisions - the gift of the Holy Spirit.
In Ephesians 1:3-7, God gave us everything in Christ, and the channel we access that through is the Holy Spirit.
Jesus told us that He would go, but the Father would send another Comforter.
My emphasis is not on the theological exegesis of the person of the Holy Spirit, but rather on a particular dimension of this gift.
He is as big as God Himself because He is God, and He is as big as our walk with Him is.
He has an infinite size, but the possibilities we get from Him depend on your relationship with Him.
This morning, I was contemplating, and it came to mind that we cannot outsource a relationship with the Holy Spirit.
We can't pay or delegate someone to have a relationship with Him for us.
It is something we must cultivate personally.
A few things to remind us about the Holy Spirit: He is a gift, a priceless gift.
He is the same Holy Spirit that worked in the apostles and prophets of the past. He solves national problems.
It is through Him that Moses, Elijah, and Elisha and others did exploits. The same quantity, the same being, is available to us today.
How far we walk with Him determines our possibilities.
I was contemplating how we maximize AI.
It is based on how good we are at prompting it. The same principle can be applied to the Holy Spirit. How far you can maximize the Holy Spirit is dependent on how you can 'prompt' Him and how you can heed to His promptings.
As I close, I want us to note that the Holy Ghost is a gold mine. See Him beyond the church stuff. See Him as a friend, not just a local friend, but one with many facets and tributaries.
See Him as a professional in your field. I believe the Holy Spirit is a very intelligent being, very creative. He's the Chief Consultant, a custodian of knowledge and wisdom. He's a priceless gift.
1 John 5:7-8 (NKJV) says:
"For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Spirit; and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness on earth: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one."
One thing about the Holy Spirit is that He is a witness in heaven and on earth.
We need Him here on earth and matters that pertain to life, and we still need Him for matters that pertain to godliness and heaven. He is a constant.
Friends, this is a gift, one provision God has made for us to fulfill His good thoughts and good plans for us.
Maximize this provision.
Shalom 🥰
